Whether you are "just interested" in the technology asset management fields, or if you are a seasoned professional practitioner, The Institute has a membership that is built around your unique needs. The IT Asset Management Professional Membership is available to all those who already have, or are pursuing certificates and/or credentials in the software & copyright compliance assurance (SCCA), software asset management (SAM), information technology asset management (ITAM), or the IT portfolio management fields.

 

Joining is Merely the First Step

After you complete the basic membership request, you will receive a more detailed membership packet. Please fill out as much of this packet as possible before returning it. Keep in mind that The Institute is not what you are used to: We're definitely not the typical "send money" organization. We're here to advance the IT asset management professions while helping you build your career. To do so requires that we get to know you and you come to know us. As well, there is a Member & Credentialing Handbook that you need to read prior to committing yourself to becoming part of the next generation software asset management and/or IT asset management professional.

The Professional Membership*

Trade Up to a Professional Membership

Bring your outdated certificate in software asset management or IT asset management with you to become a Professional Member of The Institute and we'll upgrade it toward one of our more comprehensive competency-based credentials. Or, if you are satisfied with that old-style certificate, The Institute will help you keep, renew, and/or update it over time. Think of this membership as a "competitive upgrade" option, providing you with significantly more value at a reduced price!

Non Proprietary Certification / Credential

Does your current certificate limit your renewal and growth options to a single proprietary provider? Consider the value of upgrading that certificate by becoming a candidate for our comprehensive Open Source programs. The Institute programs are based on a unique open source synthesis of standards, best practices, and real world competencies - coupled with your actual experiences in the field. You worked hard to get to where you are and your Certified Practitioner Membership in The Institute tells the world that you are committed to something more than "typical."

Fully Credentialed Professional

The capstone credential for Institute practitioners is our Credentialed Technology Portfolio Professional. Quite frankly, there are fewer than forty-five individuals on the planet who have reached this level of proficiency. Once you have moved beyond the narrowly restricted scope of the average certificates in the IT asset management fields, you will be eligible to strike for the Credentialed Professional Member level. THIS comprehensive level of professional development represents the future of IT asset management credentialing.

Academic Membership
